I have just read every page of this website and I am so sorry for what the family has had to go through. My friend asked me to take a look at the transcripts and to me--it just doesn't make moral sense. I am not familiar with South Carolina law--nor North Carolina law since I am a native of Florida. But I do know Florida law. And in Florida, every adult is accountable for his/her actions. This is obviously a situation of gross mishandling of the facts, both by the local police and the courts. As a family, keep up the letters and phone calls. Become your own lawyer, keep pushing the case in front of North Carolina & South Carolina lawmakers. Keep it in their face until SOMEONE has the compassion to take action. May angels watch over your family and bring you closure and peace. Mary Beth Mobley

First of all let me convey my sorrow at what loss your family has suffered at the hands of another and the legal system. I live in a state that i'm sad to say is the residence of the very persons that are responsible for your loss, my appologies. I and many others in this state are fighting all the time against ROW laws that are unjust especially to bikers in our state. It seems that at least you have some law in place in your state to fight with, in our state I can find no record of anyone that has been fined more than $300.00 and no one has gotten time for ROW violations (BIKERS KILLED), on top of that I can't find anyone that has gotten a point on their DL. WE WILL KEEP ON FIGHTING FOR BIKERS RIGHTS KNOW THAT JAY IS IN OUR HEART AND WE FIGHT ON

I met Jay when he was barely in his twenties, through his sister, Kim, a dear friend of mine. When I think of Jay, I see him out in the yard, chopping wood for her, not because he had to, but because Jay was generous like that, and if something needed to be done, he did it. He got that generosity from his loving family, whom I was lucky enough to know. The Jarmans included me in some of their holidays, and I have a great memory of Jay and his dad out at "Granny's," one Christmas, admiring a new shotgun one of them got as a present. Jay's quiet kindness was what is meant by "lead by example." He had a generosity of spirit that always made others want to do a little better, stand a little taller. My heart goes out to the entire Jarman family and extended family. The world is a far sadder place without Jay in it, but we are all far better people for having known him.
